The E-MED project will celebrate its fifth on-site meeting and final event on 2 and 3 June 2026 in Barcelona and Badalona, bringing together project partners to present the main results, lessons learned and next steps developed throughout the project.
Organised by UPC BarcelonaTech and TUSGSAL, this two-day event will focus on the validation and exploitation of E-MED solutions aimed at improving the energy and resource efficiency of public transport systems. The project has worked on a set of tools and guidelines designed to support data-driven planning and the deployment of electric bus systems, including fleet and network planning tools, eco-driving support, data analytics, AI-assisted maintenance and electric, green and circular public procurement guidelines.
Reviewing technical progress and project results
The first day of the event will take place at the North Campus of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech. During this session, project partners will review the main technical work packages developed within E-MED.
The agenda will include the presentation of the toolkit for energy-efficient public transport network planning, eco-driving and data analytics tools, and procurement guidelines adapted to the needs of public transport operators. Partners will also share updates from the pilot areas and review the status of deliverables, deadlines and final reporting.
Site visit and exploitation plans in Badalona
On the second day, the meeting will move to the TUSGSAL-DIREXIS bus station in Badalona. Participants will visit the facilities and discuss the project’s exploitation plans, action plans, stakeholders, lessons learned, master plan and communication and dissemination activities.
The event will conclude with a recap session and a discussion on the next steps for the consortium, focusing on how the knowledge and solutions developed through E-MED can continue to support public transport operators beyond the project timeline.
Towards cleaner and more efficient public transport systems
This final event will provide an opportunity to consolidate E-MED’s results, strengthen cooperation among partners and reflect on the role of innovation, data and energy efficiency in the transition towards cleaner, more efficient and more resilient public transport systems across the Mediterranean region.
