On 11 June, Miquel Estrada participated in the session “Interreg Euro-MED solutions for greener, healthier and more resilient cities”, held within the framework of the Foro de las Ciudades at IFEMA Madrid.
The session was part of the Interreg Euro-MED Green Living Areas Mission, an initiative aimed at accelerating the transition of Mediterranean cities towards more sustainable, healthy and resilient territories. The event brought together Spanish partners from different thematic projects to share concrete solutions tested across Mediterranean territories and explore opportunities for collaboration and replication.
During his intervention, Miquel Estrada presented the E-MED project, focused on the development of sustainable electric bus systems for public transport. His contribution highlighted the importance of advancing towards cleaner, more efficient and resilient urban mobility models adapted to the current needs of cities.
E-MED works on solutions related to the transition towards low- and zero-emission public transport fleets, contributing to improved air quality, reduced emissions and the sustainable transformation of urban mobility in the Mediterranean area.
The session provided a space to exchange experiences, methodologies and tools in key areas such as climate adaptation, Nature-Based Solutions, sustainable mobility, urban logistics, energy transition, urban infrastructure, governance and planning tools.
E-MED’s participation in this event reinforces the project’s commitment to knowledge transfer, international cooperation and the development of practical solutions to build greener, healthier and more resilient Mediterranean cities.
